I see that Somerfield's have now gone into the extortion business

Have you seen the prices they are charging now that the Coop has closed :ang:

Another good reason to shop at Llyons Farm, and Holmbush. Thanks
very much Somerfield for helping out local residents in this time of
recession.

That could be why they are losing so much trade.

It will also be hard for the Co-op to get the customers back when
they move into the Somerfield store as people don't forget being taken advantage of.

Naughty !!!

Come on Asda, get them doors open and take my money :) :P

Yes, it hadn't gone un-noticed here either!
The good lady commented that there doesn't appear to be so many offers either, but I'm not sure....
Just depends on what you want!

I agree 100% I will think I will contact the co-op and complain on this rip off of Lancing residents in our hour of need because of no competition in Lancing :ang:

Go for it GreenAngel - Give'em a piece of your mind - at the rate they are going their membership card wont be worth having. Parking for there will be a problem too, especially when you now have to pay when previously you didn't when located at the old site.

And further to take your trolley back to get your £1.00 back.

MMmmmmm....... seems like the reasons for shopping at ASDA are starting to grow.......

Appears loyaltly is going to cost me......so wave goodbye to loyalty and say hello to looking after the pennies to let the pounds look after themselves.......isn't that how the advert goes ?

It appears they did have control of all three elainep.

It has'nt been for long I remember Alldays being taken over by the Co-Op not long ago, some 6 or 12 months back, Somerfields the same.

The co-op seemed to be playing Monopoly buying up all the orange cards on the board, come to think of it its more like the old Kent road (I forget their colour)?

P.s. thanks for the picture on the front page Potty

....................................Somerfield.............Small independent store @ Broadway

Fairy Washing Up liquid..... £1.09........... £0.99

Free Range Eggs Large.... £1.84............ £1.25

Silverspoon Sugar............. £0.93............. £0.99

Mushroom Pre-packed...... £1.00............ £0.99

Unsmoked Back Bacon 8.. £2.60........... £1.99

Think is says it all.

Now I know that some people will say "well Somerfield has its £1.00 specials on" as advertised on the TV, yes they do, but very few are actually in stock (at least this morning they weren't) and I will say the local independent also has some good deals /specials. I also can park for free outside the independent and I don't have to keep crossing a very congested busy main high street to go to the store.
Granted there isn't a huge choice in the independent but then the shop itself is only the size of the Fruit & Veg part of Somerfield and no you probably wouldn't get your weekly shop in the independent but for your basics, like milk bread eggs bacon and the like I like the fact they aren't ripping me off and they are convenient
